Val D’Isere is without doubt, one of the most popular ski resorts in the French Alps and it’s hardly surprising with over 300km of piste, 99 lifts and unlimited off-piste skiing to explore.  With a wide range of runs to choose from, there’s skiing for all abilities.  For some, it is considered a ‘snow-sure’ resort due to its high altitude ranging from 1850m to 3500m and because its position bordering the Italian Alps often benefits from the Mediterranean low pressures bringing heavy snow fall.  The snowfall record is indeed exceptional and like Chamonix, the season extends to early May.
